Position Purpose:
This is a full-time, exempt position that will be reporting to the Director, Project Finance. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Director, Project Finance in all operational finance duties, as well as conducting financial analysis and creating complex financial models supporting corporate forecasts, BESS projects and portfolio project financings.  The Project Finance Analyst will gain BESS development and commercialization expertise through assignments supporting the Commercial and Development teams on a rotating basis.  The ideal candidate will be deeply interested in energy project finance, power markets, capital markets, and addressing the challenges of grid intermittency through deployment of standalone battery storage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain complex energy project financial models.
  • Assist in capital raising and structuring for KCE, LLC and project companies.
  • Work closely with Project Finance team as well as other departments on cross-functional modeling initiatives, including early-stage development models, commercial pricing models, and M&A valuation activities. 
  • Create project and portfolio marketing materials
  • Support in the development of long-term operational and financial plans.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders and external financial parties
  • Assist the Director, Project Finance in all financial duties as needed.
  • All other duties as required.

Work Experience & Requirements:
  • Top-notch financial modelling skills, including basic understanding of financial concepts such as IRR and NPV
  • Knowledge of grid-scale batteries, clean energy, and markets a plus.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in capital markets and project finance debt structures
  • Should be eager to learn and motivated by creating a more resilient and cleaner grid.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple, high-stakes projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work over 40 hours in a week as needed
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a small team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
