POSITION PURPOSE:  
This is a full-time, exempt position that will be reporting to the EVP, Asset Operations. The Director of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and High Voltage will oversee and manage the operational performance and maintenance of all facilities, equipment, and systems at our stand-alone storage company. This includes ensuring the seamless day-to-day functioning of the battery energy storage systems as well as the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the medium-voltage and high-voltage equipment. The role will require strategic oversight of both routine maintenance activities and emergency response protocols, while ensuring regulatory compliance and adhering to all safety regulations and industry best practices. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing long-term strategies for operational efficiency, sustainability, and risk management.

O&M DIRECTOR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Required):
  • Lead and mentor and provide strategic oversight of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, promoting safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategies for operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Ensure all operations meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Lead efforts to maintain high safety and performance standards.
  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring clear communication, timely issue resolution, effective issue escalation, and performance accountability.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), including budgets, availability, reliability, and performance, through proactive maintenance and data-driven insights.
  • Work closely with Market Operations, Engineering, Performance Engineering, Asset Management and other departments to resolve challenges and optimize performance.
  • Support the handoff of new assets from construction to COD to operations, addressing any issues during the transition.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and ensure proper documentation of O&M activities.
  • Lead emergency response efforts, minimizing operational disruption during events.
  • All other duties as required

HV KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Preferred):
  • Provide direction and strategic oversight for high-voltage and medium voltage maintenance and operations, and compliance with NERC standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs for HV/MV, ensuring proper qualifications and workforce development.
  • Oversee HV/MV spare parts strategy, inventory, procurement, and ensure operational readiness of all equipment.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and risk mitigation efforts for HV/MV equipment, ensuring reliability and safety.
  • Provide guidance on electrical design, engineering, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Direct emergency response and repair strategies for HV/MV assets, serving as a technical advisor to senior leadership.

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of O&M management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy-based power equipment and inverter based resources.
  • Strong knowledge of MV/HV electrical equipment, protection systems, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and large-scale operational projects.
  • Experience developing and optimizing operational processes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills with a track record of mentoring teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings (one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, etc.) and ability to review basic electrical discipline calculations.
