Travel: 10%

Position Purpose:

This is a full-time, exempt position that will be reporting to the Director, GIS. This individual will be responsible for working with the GIS Team to develop automation scripts and Machine Learning models for geospatial analysis and the identification of development opportunities. The GIS Developer will work primarily with GIS in collaboration with Market Operations, Software Development, Policy / Market Design, and Development to identify cross-departmental programming solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GIS Data Analysis: Work with geospatial data sets that include land use, land ownership, environmental, and electrical transmission.
  • ArcGIS Pro: Prepare, train, and run models within ArcGIS Pro related to Data and Satellite Imagery Analysis.
  • Script Development: Work within Key Capture Energy’s GitHub Organization and the ArcGIS Online Portal to develop scripts for mapping Interconnection Queue Data from ISOs, analyzing arbitrage for Energy Storage development, rate analysis, and the production of project maps.
  • PIT: Work with GIS and Software Development to contribute to the population and maintenance of the internal Project Information Tracker (PIT).
  • Prospecting: collaborate with GIS, Market Ops, Policy, and Development to automate prospecting processes for site suitability analysis using geospatial data to identify viable opportunities for the development of energy storage and solar projects.
  • Project Layout Exhibits and Land Options: work with the CAD Analyst to automate the production of Preliminary layout design and maps within AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
  • All other duties as required.

Work Experience & Requirements:

  • Proficiency with GitHub, ArcPy, and Python.
  • Experience in ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ModelBuilder, AutoCAD, Google Earth, and ArcGIS Notebooks.
  • Passionate about the renewable energy space and confident in their work product.
  • Knowledge of grid-scale batteries, clean energy, markets, and electrical engineering a plus.
  • Proven experience delivering time-pressured projects on-time and on-quality
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a small team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
  • Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
