POSITION PURPOSE:
This is a temporary, non-exempt position report to the Director, Development. As a Project Development intern, you'll support our team in identifying and developing energy projects in SPP and ERCOT regions. Your key tasks include tracking SPP competitions, researching project viability, and identifying co-ops with capacity needs. Additionally, you'll assist in updating project information and performing administrative tasks. This role offers valuable experience in the dynamic energy sector while contributing to our team's success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- SPP
- SPP Competition Tracking - updating spreadsheet with generator information (network upgrades, CODs, Transmission Provider, etc) for SPP Clusters 2018-2023 as Phase 1 and Phase 2 results are released and calculating their financial securities. Providing qualitative research into individual projects to determine their viability/dev risk to help us with RFPs and Decision Points.
- SPP Origination - Intern would help identify smaller co-ops in the SPP territory with capacity shortfalls or BESS needs. Deliverable would be a list of Co-ops, identify needs, and provide list of conferences that these utilities attend that would be good origination opportunities.
- ERCOT
- Potentially an ERCOT Competition Tracker for prospecting purposes (depends where we are on prospecting during the Summer).
- Others
- Update PIT information to ensure each ERCOT/SPP project is fully updated with most recent project information.
- Various administrative tasks (POs, memo recordings, GIS requests, meeting notes/updates, etc).
- All other duties as required
- Undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in environmental studies
